Summary: The Data Director will manage the 2024 Coordinated Campaign’s Data team, and develop
all coordinated data systems. This senior level position will work closely with other departments to
implement programming to elect Montana Democrats up and down the ballot. This role will play a
critical part in key elections in Montana this cycle, including re-electing Senator Jon Tester. The Data
Director will report to the Coordinated Campaign Director, and will work closely with party staff,
officials, and table partners. This position is full-time, based in Billings, and will require some travel.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
● At least two cycles of campaign experience, at least one in a coordinated / party Data role
● Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and a
passion for the work
● Proficiency with VAN, including experience with VAN as an administrator (e.g., managing user
profiles and scripts, creating targets, and utilizing and interpreting scores)
● Intermediate or advanced experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets is required
● Proficiency with Google Data Studios, Tableau, and/or other data visualization platforms
● Proficiency with SQL strongly preferred
● Prior staff management experience is a plus
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Lead the Data Department, including hiring and managing all Coordinated Data staff
● Work collaboratively with the Organizing, Native Vote, and Voter Access departments to
develop effective reporting and tools
● Oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of automated and manual reports and
dashboards that assist with tracking program metrics and progress
● Work with campaign leadership and table partners to develop voter contact universes
● Work to develop, maintain, and improve the campaign’s data infrastructure
● Administer and support VAN and other voter contact tools, including working with the state
party and national committees to assist with management of the voter file
