THE ROLE:
In collaboration with the Vice President of Development, the Stewardship Officer will be responsible for creating, implementing and managing a comprehensive donor relations, stewardship, recognition and retention program for NextGen across all its entities.
The Stewardship Officer will consistently promote positive and mutually rewarding interaction with and recognition of donors with the goal of retaining and growing our donor base. They will collaborate across departments and external constituencies to determine the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors, creating a gratifying donor experience for all donors in support of the NextGen’s mission across all its entities.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE:
- Create, implement, and manage all stewardship and recognition programs for NextGen donors across all our entities, including the implementation of a new donor recognition program.
- In collaboration with other Development team members, create and manage evergreen materials and collateral for events, meetings, and other usage that illustrates NextGen’s impact and mission, including the creation of annual/impact reports.
- Create and oversee the proper acknowledgement of donations to include drafting thank you letters, emails, other acknowledgement materials, and making timely touch points, in coordination with frontline fundraisers.
- Write and manage donor emails or communications from NextGen Leadership and frontline fundraisers to further cultivate existing donors and engage prospects.
- Provide support on strategy and other stewardship activities to frontline fundraisers to help further prospect conversations and strengthen current donor relationships.
- Become proficient at all aspects of the CRM database, including but limited to: data entry and report generation, with the ability to manipulate data and create reports and mailing lists, record all donation information and maintain communication records with donors.
- Provide background research and materials that will provide support for frontline fundraisers, as needed.
- Assist with fundraising events, in person or online, as needed.
- Assist with other fundraising activities, as needed.
ABOUT YOU:
- 3-4 years of experience in development, advancement, or fundraising positions, with demonstrated success at nonprofit or political organizations.
- Prior donor stewardship experience at local or state based organizations with proven track record of successfully creating and managing donor recognition programs to help increase revenue.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
- Innovative, self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects well, working both independently and as a team member.
- Strong organizational, strategic, and analytical skills, ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects while clearly measuring performance and meeting goals and deadlines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, do-it-yourself, start-up environment and calmly switch gears when priorities/objectives change.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working remotely in a highly collaborative distributed workforce setting.
SALARY INFORMATION:
The base salary range for this position is $62,000-67,000. The final base salary will be determined by various factors, including individual qualifications and internal parity, which will be objectively assessed during the interview process.
