Brian Walsh, former political director at the National Republican Congressional Committee, is the new president of American Action Network, a Republican 501(c)(4).
Before becoming political director at the NRCC, Walsh was the organization’s deputy director of incumbent retention and deputy political director. He has also served as a staffer to several members of Congress. The American Action Network’s former president, Rob Collins, who previously worked in the office of then–Republican House Whip Eric Cantor, will remain involved in an advisory capacity.
Founded by former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman and 2008 McCain presidential campaign advisor Douglas Holtz-Eakin, American Action Network, along with its sister 501(c)(3) organization, American Action Forum, spent more than $25 million in the 2010 cycle.
In a statement, Coleman called Walsh “one of the premier grassroots organizers around the country” and said that he “has a matchless knowledge of the House and Senate.”
