Know a campaign operative who did great work in 2015 and is poised to rise to new heights in 2016? Nominate them for one of the campaign industry’s most prestigious honors: The Rising Star Award.
Since 1988, Campaigns & Elections has recognized the up-and-comers of the campaign world with its Rising Star award, and some of the industry’s biggest names are counted among the recipients.
Included in the inaugural class of Rising Stars: David Axelrod, Alex Castellanos, Ben Ginsberg, Mark Mellman and Celinda Lake. And since the 1992 cycle, C&E Rising Stars have served in senior positions on the presidential campaigns of every major party nominee.
This year, we will name another 25 Rising Stars: 10 Democrats, 10 Republicans and five International/Nonpartisan/Third Party nominees. If you know someone deserving of the honor, nominate them using the submission form here.
A few rules: To be eligible, nominees must be 35 years of age or younger on June 30, 2016. Elected officials will not be considered. In order for the nomination to be considered complete, a photo of the nominee, their resume, and any supplemental materials must also be emailed to risingstars@campaignsandelections.com with the subject line: 2016 Rising Star Nomination.
All nominations must be submitted by May 23, 2016 at 11:59 pm.
Suggested supplemental materials: 1) Letters of recommendation in support of the nominee from those who have worked alongside them in the campaign world. 2) Inclusion of news articles about the nominee or their work.
Submitting letters of recommendation or testimonials on behalf of the nominee is not a requirement, but it is strongly encouraged as it helps the nomination stand out.
The 2016 class of Rising Stars will be recognized at the opening night of C&E's Campaign Expo Conference in Washington, D.C. on June 15. If you have any questions about the process, please contact Shane D'Aprile at sdaprile@campaignsandelections.com
