As any political operative can tell you, a campaign is only as good as the people who put it together and implement it. At the end of the day, it’s all about people. The same is true for publishing. At Campaigns & Elections, we are building the best possible team to deliver the nation’s leading magazine for political professionals. And our team keeps getting better.
This month, we are thrilled to welcome James O’Brien back to the company as the new publisher of Campaigns & Elections. (He was previously senior director of public relations and advocacy at Intellisphere, LLC, which, along with Political World Communications, Campaigns & Elections’s parent company, is owned by MJH & Associates.) James comes to us from Bigwidesky, Inc., a branding and marketing firm. He will oversee sales and marketing operations at C&E.
James is a seasoned sales and marketing professional who will be an asset to the magazine and its extensions—particularly our digital offerings. He brings to C&E a strong record of leadership as a sales and marketing executive, agency owner, and political consultant. An internationally recognized leader in the field of e-mail marketing compliance, James has also served as a consultant to nearly 200 political campaigns. He was previously director of marketing at LashBack, Inc. and at PointRoll, Inc. In 1996, O’Brien founded Impact Strategies and served as its president and CEO until 2002.
We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Costas Panagopoulos has been promoted to editor-in-chief. Campaigns & Elections is in good hands under Panagopoulos’s capable editorial leadership. His energy, expertise, and enthusiasm have been essential to C&E’s recent growth, brand development, and delivery of top-notch editorial content.
Costas and James make a powerful team, and they will work together to build C&E into a global brand. The best is yet to come.
