Larry Kamer has joined the Glover Park Group as managing director and director of public affairs. From the press release:
Kamer has been recognized for accomplishments throughout his career, including as a “PR All-Star” (Holmes Report), and as one of “America’s Top 10 Crisis Busters” (PR Week). According to Corporate Legal Times, “Larry Kamer can stop any rumor.” He has also won numerous industry awards for crisis and issues management, public affairs, and corporate communications campaigns. Kamer’s clients have included some of the world’s most recognizable brands, institutions and associations. Published in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company and major local newspapers, he is frequently cited as an expert in reputation and controversy management. Most recently, Kamer served as West Region Director and Senior Counselor for Fleishman-Hillard, where he directed the agency’s offices in California and Oregon and co-chaired the corporate communications practice.
Lyndsi Thomas has joined the David All Group as account executive. Thomas, a former blogger at NewsBusters.org, will help clients develop their new media presence.Sara Bonjean has joined Minnesota-based GR Seppala and Associates as the fundraising firm’s D.C. office director. The firm lists many prominant non-profits and Republican politicians as clients, including House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (Va.) and Sen. Sam Brownback (Kan.). Bonjean is working with Rep. Ed Whitfield (Ky.). She was previously the director of events and external affairs for the Republican National Committee.Erin Casey has opened her own fundraising shop, and is currently working with the Montana Republican Party and Vaughn Ward, who is challenging Rep. Walt Minnick (D-Idaho) next year. Casey was the director of special projects for the NRSC in 2007, and has previously worked for the NRCC and the Maryland Republican Party.Achim Bergman has been hired as the director of the new D.C. office of direct mail firm the Baughman Co. Bergman has worked for the DNC for the past four years, and has advised the DGA. In 2006, he served as the western political director for the DCCC.
