Each year, Campaigns & Elections magazine selects the “Rising Stars” of politics—an exclusive group of operatives under the age of 35 who have already begun to make their mark in political consulting or advocacy.
We want your help in finding the best of the best for 2011. Nominate someone today who you think has what it takes to become one of tomorrow’s political greats.
Rising Stars were first recognized in 1988 and have gone on to serve in the highest levels of government and political consulting. (Past honorees include David Axelrod, Donna Brazile, James Carville, Alex Castellanos, Rahm Emanuel, Ben Ginsberg, Ed Goeas, Mike Murphy, Bill McInturff, and George Stephanopoulos.Click here for the complete Rising Stars alumni list.)
Qualifications for nominees can include innovative work in direct mail, polling, get-out-the-vote operations, fundraising, or media—or managing a successful long-shot campaign. (Elected officials will not be considered.) Most important of all, we are looking for operatives with a track record of achievement and the promise to attain greatness in the coming years.
From among those nominated, we will select the 2011 class of Rising Stars, which will include 15 Republicans, 15 Democrats, and 10 independents, nonpartisans, or non-Americans.
We will feature the Rising Stars of 2011 in our June issue and at our 28th annual campaign training seminar, The Art of Political Campaigning, in Washington, D.C., on June 16-18.
