The Obama campaign’s grassroots gurus are launching their own political firm—270 Strategies. The firm will be led by Mitch Stewart, former battleground states director for Obama for America, and Jeremy Bird, former national field director for OFA.
A spokesman for the pair confirmed the details surrounding the firm to C&E and said the partners intend to reveal more in the coming weeks. The launch of the firm was first reported Tuesday morning in Politico.
Also on board are OFA deputies, Mark Beatty and Marlon Marshall, as well as regional directors Meg Ansara and Lauren Kidwell. All are partners in the new venture.
The firm doesn’t have a website up and running yet, but @270Strategies sent its first tweet this morning:
We’re building 270 Strategies to bring the empowering Obama grassroots model to your campaign. Follow us for updates in the coming weeks …
