Since 1988, Campaigns & Elections magazine has recognized up and coming political professionals who have made an early mark on the campaign world with its Rising Star award. Over the years, C&E Rising Stars have gone on to serve at the highest levels of government and political consulting. Among the inaugural class: David Axelrod, James Carville, Alex Castellanos and Mike Murphy.
In 2012, C&E will honor 30 new Rising Stars: 12 Democrats, 12 Republicans and 6 International/nonpartisan nominees.
Know someone deserving of the honor? Nominations are now open. The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2012. Access the nomination form here.
This year’s class will be featured in the May/June issue of C&E and recognized at our annual Art of Political Campaigning seminar in Washington, D.C. on June 18-20. To be eligible, nominees must be 35 years old or younger on June 18, 2012. Elected officials will not be considered.
To submit a nominee, complete the nomination form in its entirety. In order for the nomination to be considered complete, a photo of the nominee and any supplemental materials must also be emailed to risingstars@campaignsandelections.com with the subject line: Rising Star Nomination.
We encourage the submission of up to two letters of recommendation and links to news articles about the nominee or their work. You may nominate yourself.
Incomplete forms will not be considered. Inaccurate information will void the nomination. If you have questions about the process, please contact C&E Editor Shane D’Aprile at sdaprile@campaignsandelections.com
