A new poll released by Rasmussen suggests that a slight majority of Americans say they have a favorable or very favorable opinion of last week’s tea party protests. Nineteen percent say they have a favorable view and 32 percent a very favorable view. Only 33 percent had an unfavorable view.Among what the survey deemed the “Political Class,” though, the numbers are quite different. There, 81 percent had a negative view, compared to just 13 percent with a somewhat favorable. None of the political class surveyed had a very favorable view. There’s a similar divide in participation. While one in four surveyed said they knew a tea party participant, that dropped to one percent among the political class.
