Jim Messina, who managed President Obama’s 2012 reelection effort, has launched his own consulting firm—the Messina Group.
“The Messina Group advises political campaigns and organizations who want to build movements, services, and products that succeed by being data-driven, digitally savvy, and grassroots focused,” reads a message atop the new firm’s website.
In an interview with Politico, Messina said he wants to advise his clients based on the lessons learned in the recent election cycle with a focus on digital and grassroots. Messina will stay on as chairman of Organizing for Action, Politico reported, but said he will not “take any clients that conflict with OFA.”
Joining Messina at the new firm are Democratic operatives Ty Matsdorf and Tara Corrigan. During this past cycle, Matsdorf was at the research-oriented Super PAC American Bridge and Corrigan worked on the Obama reelect effort.
