Specter Starts Campaigning

Via Politico:

Specter is already up with an expensive campaign ad throughout the state of Pennsylvania attacking his likely primary opponent, Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. The ad is airing on all three cable news channels in all major markets in the Keystone State and will cost the campaign about $100,000, according to the Specter campaign. . . Specter’s decision to attack Toomey, who hasn’t even announced he’s running yet, shows how concerned he is about his re-election prospects. A Quinnipiac poll earlier this month showed Specter trailing Toomey by 14 points, 41 to 27 percent, among Republican voters. But while Toomey has the lead, polls show him still unknown by most Pennsylvania Republicans. So Specter is trying to define him negatively – very early on.
