Thursday Must-Reads: 100 Days, Coming Up

As Obama’s hundred-day benchmark approaches (April 29), Politico notices that he hasn’t used the same high-flying rhetoric that he did during the campaign; his communications strategy, he says, is prose, not poetry. The back-and-forth continues over the two big new issues: climate change, where the League of Conservation Voters is airing ads in districts where Republicans oppose a bill; and same-sex marriage, which a new ad is supporting in Iowa. Finally, in terms of the parties themselves, another writer has another prescription for the GOP: Rather than whine about bipartisanship, they need to be more open to moderates themselves. But lucky for the GOP, Democrats have done so well that they have little to gain, making new DCCC Executive Director Jon Vogel’s job a bit more difficult.
