A campaign for US Senate in Kansas is hiring a Deputy Finance Director to join their rapidly growing team.
The Deputy Finance Director will carry a portfolio of mid-level and prospective major donors, help plan and staff events, and keep the fundraising operation organized. This is a role with real donor contact and management responsibility on a fully staffed Senate finance team.
Responsibilities
- Support the Finance Director in managing the campaign’s fundraising operations, including donor outreach, event coordination, and call time execution, but with a major focus on events.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level and prospective major donors, conducting personal outreach, follow-up, and maintenance.
- Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, including logistics, invite lists, and post-event follow-up.
- Hold event hosts accountable to agreed-upon fundraising goals.
- Maintain accurate and current donor records in the campaign’s CRM system.
- Coordinate with Finance Assistants on event logistics and administrative fundraising tasks.
- Prepare fundraiser briefs & donor memos for the candidate and senior staff.
- Track fundraising progress against targets and produce regular reports for the Finance Director.
Experience & Qualifications
- At least two cycles of political fundraising experience on a federal, statewide, or legislative campaign.
- A proven track record of executing small and large dollar fundraisers successfully.
- Experience with donor management systems, CRM tools, and Google Workspace
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Familiarity with FEC compliance requirements.
What Success Looks Like
Success for the Deputy Finance Director is based on the growth and engagement of the campaign’s mid-level donor portfolio, the successful execution of fundraising events, and the accuracy and timeliness of donor tracking and reporting.
Compensation – $80,000
